RYAN GALLANT, STRENGTH COACH, YOGA TEACHER

Ryan grew up just outside of Vancouver, BC. His passion for sports, health, and fitness led him to studying Kinesiology and Psychology at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). He graduated in 2013 and began working as a Kinesiologist/Strength Coach at Steve Nash Sports Club in Vancouver. For 3 years Ryan helped transform his clients lives with a balanced approach to fitness. In 2014 he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and completed certifications with TRX, BOSU, and Agatsu Kettlebell.
In late 2015 Ryan left Canada to study Yoga in India. He completed several different Yoga trainings and travelled the world teaching yoga and fitness wherever he went. This journey was truly transformational for Ryan, and it led him to a whole new appreciation for a balanced approach to wellness.
In 2019 Ryan met his now fiancé, Jess, while in India. They returned to Canada in early 2020 and soon found out they were expecting a baby girl. They spent the rest of the year preparing for her arrival while Ryan worked as a Kinesiologist and Yoga Teacher at Personal Best in Vancouver.
In May 2021 they moved to Thunder Bay (where Jess is originally from) and began putting their roots down in the community. Ryan met Paul shortly after arriving and knew right away Thrive was the place to set up his business in Thunder Bay. He shares the same vision of the gym being a place for transformation of the body and the person; a transformation that spills out into all areas of life. He joined the team at Thrive in September 2021.
His approach to fitness is holistic; the goal for all his client’s is for them to become strong and flexible in the body and mind. He utilizes functional fitness, strength training, and yoga to guide client’s towards this goal.
